Choose any four Saturdays during the 8-week fall season. You don't have to select your dates in advance—simply attend the four Saturdays that work best for your family.

Led by Djembe Fola Kam, adults and youth learn side by side through traditional West African rhythms, technique, call-and-response, listening, timing, and ensemble playing.

What You'll Build Together

• Traditional West African rhythms
• Clear djembe technique and sound
• Timing and rhythmic confidence
• Call-and-response skills
• Listening and coordination
• Ensemble playing
• Understanding of the rhythms and their cultural traditions
• A shared experience that grows from week to week

No previous drumming experience is required.

From the Circle to the Stage

Families who choose to perform will also have the opportunity to prepare for a culminating performance during the Kwanzaa season.

Performance is optional. You're equally welcome to use your four Saturdays simply to learn, grow, and enjoy drumming together.
